 The Broodmares
We believe the qualities of the mare are at least as important as those of the stallion.
Not only does the mare contribute half the foal's genetics; but it is also the mare who nurtures that foal throughout its earliest, most impressionable weeks of life. M&MS Farms is blessed with very special broodmares. Some were carefully selected for their potential and acquired. Some were born right here. Most were independently assessed in the showring for their individual quality, as evidenced by their titles. All are loved and respected both for who they are and for the difficult and wonderful jobs they do.

Serena Soat's Lil Tinkertoy X Soat's Golden Princess
In her youth, Serena gave the little grandchildren rides on her back, learned to drive, and even participated in triple chariot racing exhibitions. We selected her as our first broodmare. And as the oldest and the wisest, she assumed her rightful place as "boss mare".
This red roan, 30.75" mare, foaled on 7-22-80, was a fine mother who quite frequently passed on her huge eye and cocky attitude to her offspring, including: MMS Banner's Serendipity Tuff Stuff who is with Kim Sweezy in Leslie, Michigan; MMS Sovereign's Heir Apparent who brought joy to the Schlaff family in Webberville, Michigan and earned his Pinto Association titles with his current owner, Mary Olrich; MMS Sovereign's Free Spirit and her foal MMS Imagine That who joined the Pastolics in Wooster, Ohio; MMS Serena Bold Encore who's beloved by Ginny Wolfe of Carleton, Michigan; and MMS Banner Be Bold who was purchased and shown by Sabrina Woodruff of Haslett, Michigan.
But time goes on, often faster than we would ever hope.
At the age of 23, Serena had a very difficult time positioning her 2003 foal for his delivery. And at her age, we opted not to tempt fate by trying to breed her again. So when she finished raising her last son, MMS Serena's Enchanted Finale, the grand dam began her well deserved retirement!
Finale joined Rene' Gunderson and her family, of Moon Valley Farm in Nampa, Idaho, at the conclusion of our First Annual Valentines' Day Sale. Thanks, Rene', for selecting this special young stallion!
In anticipation of Serena's eventual retirement, we decided long ago to retain Serena's daughter, MMS Starlight Starbright, for our breeding program, once Starlight completed her show career. Unfortunately, after three dead foals (and two severe dystocias), we accepted the fact that Starlight is not destined to be a mom. Our dear friend, Camille Reed, of Irving, Texas, leased her, with the intention of driving her again in the show ring, under the guidance of Lisa Barnes of Bar NS Ranch. Starlight is back home again, enjoying life as a lesson horse here at M&MS Farms.
Thank you, Serena for all you've given M&MS Farms, over all these years! You came to us as our very first broodmare. You taught me more about foaling than anyone. You were boss mare of the herd for so long. You were the kind and gentle "grandma" with the new weanlings. You're an incredibly special, true lady!! And we will always love you dearly!
Our beloved Serena passed away peacefully in her sleep early on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2008, at the age of 28 years 4 months. She was an exquisite blessing.

Fallen Ash Farm's Miss Silver Cricket Soat's Lil Cricket X Fallen Ash Farm's Silver Fire
This 30.25" blue roan mare, foaled on 5-9-87, found me and convinced me to take her home, as I was "shopping" one day, trying to decide among three other mares. She passed away peacefully on 9-16-07, after a short bout with laminitis and sinusitis.
Our Cricket was always the perfect mare. We miss her desperately, but take comfort knowing she'll always live on through all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at M&MS Farms and across the country.
Shown only lightly before becoming a member of the broodmare band and joining us, Cricket reentered the showring with her offspring, MMS Ms Image Kandu, unanimously winning the mare and foal classes under both judges. Thank you, Cindy Lewis, of New Era, Michigan, for loving Kandu!
Cricket had a spectacular trot and produced some fine, athletic foals, including two geldings who are currently available for purchase: MMS Sovereign's Silver Streak, and MMS Sovereign's Silver Legacy.
Other Cricket foals are bringing great joy to their new owners, including: MMS Gold And Silver Mirage who's with Doni Rasmussen of Little r Minis in Salt Lake City, Utah; MMS Enchantor's Mystique who's beloved by Bonni Sweezy of Leslie, Michigan; MMS Mister Enchantment, who's doted on by Cindy Ramsey of Okemos, Michigan; and MMS Kept It A Mystery who was selected by Rene' Gunderson, of Moon Valley Farm in Nampa, Idaho.
Cricket produced an Enchantor son for us in 2001. The AMHA National Top Ten stallion MMS Enchantor's Mischief Maker will remain at M&MS Farms as an integral part of our breeding program.
Cricket produced just three daughters in her lifetime. The one M&MS Farms opted to retain is her 2005 exquisite, blue roan sired by Bold Image: MMS Ms Just Imagine. Imagine has a big job ahead of her as she eventually takes Cricket's place in our breeding program.
M&MS Farms is also retaining two of Cricket's grand daughters: MMS Sonserra Mischief and MMS Mischief's Fabled Wish.
Thank you, Miss Silver Cricket, for choosing Sue and for sharing your life with all of us at M&MS Farms. We'll always love you!!

Feather Ridge's Patches Feather Ridge's Smokey X Feather Ridge's Beauty
Wilder than wild as a yearling, when I fell in love and selected her as my first potential show mare, Patches did us all proud by earning an AMHA national title in mares to drive when she was just two years old! (That was the very last year AMHA allowed two year olds to drive in the ring.)
Foaled on 6-8-88, Patches is 31.25" and has an incredible, floating trot. She produces magnificent offspring for us, the best known of whom is eight time AMHA nationally titled MMS Dream Come True. Her multiply titled son, MMS Patches' Bold Enchantor, is one of our chief herd sires, as is her AMHA National Top Ten 29" & Under grandson MMS Enchantor's Mischief Maker. Her daughter, MMS Almost An Angel, retired from the showring in 2002 and produced her very first foal in 2003, MMS Echo's Spirit Alibi, a filly by eight time nationally titled TenL's Echo's Captive Spirit (by Buck Echo). Thank you, Christina Terpenning, for selecting Alibi and for allowing us to breed her to Komotion! Thank you, too, Vicky and Heather Redmond of Blue Star Miniatures in Estacada, Oregon, for adopting our Alibi and making her part of your breeding program.
Patches' granddaughter, multichampion junior mare, MMS Miracle's Enchantress, began her broodmare career with us in 2003 and is available for purchase, as are Patches' other four granddaughters: MMS Shenanigans For Sure, MMS True Blue, MMS Day Dream Mischief, and MMS Komotion's Precious Patches. Her grandsons MMS Quest's Enchanted Surprise, MMS Dream Maker, and MMS Alykazam also are available.
Enchantress' daughter, MMS Keeper Of The Starz (who is Patches' very first great granddaughter) is now beloved by Judy and Reuel Long of Ryka Miniatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Patches' incredibly high stepping, magnificent grandson, MMS Dream Komotion, completed his second show season as a driving stallion, came home, and covered some of our very best mares. Komotion's first son arrived in 2007; and his first daughters, in 2008. MMS Como Va, MMS Komotion's Wishful Thinking, and MMS Komotion's Precious Patches are absolutely incredible. And they're available for purchase. Komotion, himself, is available by private treaty.
Patches also had two other great grandsons in 2007 with the births of MMS Miracle's Milagro, sired by MMS Mischief Maker ( a Patches' grandson), and MMS Shenanigans Assured, whose dam is Patches' granddaughter, Shenanigans. In 2008, Patches became a grandma once again with the birth of Mischief's daughters MMS Mischief's Fortune Teller (out of Feather) and MMS Day Dream Mischief (out of Dreamer, another Patches daughter. AND, also in 2008, Patches became the mother and the grandmother of her own, very tiny, Komotion's Precious Patches.
Other Patches children are also in new homes, with wonderful people who love them. MMS Patches' SirPrize (now deceased) will always be adored by Ginny Wolfe in Carleton, Michigan. MMS Patches' Image Pizzazz lives with Cindy Ramsey in Okemos, Michigan; and I had the great pleasure of helping Cindy teach Pizzazz to drive. And MMS Patches' Ultimate Image is with Sue Westbrook of Hands To Inches Miniatures in Gonzales, Louisiana.
Patches was bred to AMHA National Champion Vermilyea Farm's Portrait of Blue for an April 2004 foal, but she miscarried. She was bred back to Portrait for a May 2005 foal, but absorbed.
Patches made up for all that lost time though when, on 5-8-06, she gifted us with an extraordinary bay pinto filly -- a full sister to our renowned eight time AMHA nationally titled MMS Dream Come True. Another Bold Image daughter, her name is MMS Passion Be Bold. Passion is sure to live up to all our expectations. We couldn't be happier that Brenna Pitlanish and Passion chose each other. It's going to be such fun to work together, preparing Brenna and Passion for the ring!
Patches had a false pregnancy in 2007 and was bred to the incomparable Komotion for a June 2008 foal. That little one will always be little. She's MMS Komotion's Precious Patches. And Precious is an absolutely magnificent bay!
Patches is in foal once again and is expecting a July 2009 baby. This time the sire is another Patches grandson, our sweet little Mischief Maker.

VVF's L'il Bit of Dazzle VVF LoBoy's Short Zipper X Lil Bit
Another "wild woman" when she joined us, Dazzle had a credible show career before beginning what she does best: producing some dynamic foals!
Dazzle is 31.75" and was born on 5-9-89. She's a wonderful mother! And we're quite fortunate to have three of her daughters in our breeding program, too: AMHA nationally titled driving mare MMS Wish Upon A Dazzlin Star, AMHA multiple grand champion senior mare MMS Dazzle's Reigning Miracle, and MMS Ultimate Destiny Calls.
Dazzle's 1996 Blue Sovereign daughter Miracle; and her granddaughters, AMHA multichampion yearling filly and amateur junior mare MMS Miracle's Enchantress is currently available for purchase, as is her 2007 grandson MMS Mischief's Milagro. M&MS Farms is retaining Wishes and Dazzle's 2003 Ultra daughter, Destiny.
Her other foals are happily settled in their new, forever homes where they're loved and cared for. Her very first foal, MMS Dazzlin Bit Of Imagination is one of Carolyn Walden's very favorites at Walden Hill Miniature Horse Farm in Calhoun, Louisiana. MMS Absolutely Bold Image is doted on by Sue and Shawn McGrain in Fostoria, Ohio, who showed him to 4H championships. MMS Tuff Enuff accompanied Feather Ridge's Essense on a move to Wendy O'Brien and her granddaughters at Trout Walk Farm in Wassaic, New York. MMS Promise Me stayed right here in Williamston, Michigan, when Gene and Gloria Schneider and Hunter Hart of Silhouette Manor fell in love with her. And MMS Miracle's Image In the Moonlight is beloved by the Bidelman family in Linden, Michigan.
Dazzle continues to produce the very best. On 5-1-07, she presented us with another filly, sired by our AMHA National Top Ten 29" & Under Junior Stallion Mischief Maker. The filly is MMS Bewitched and Bedazzled. And she's a gorgeous, truly "bewitching" blue roan with a lovely sculpted head. Bewitched is available to just the right home.

MMS Wish Upon A Dazzlin Star Feather Ridge's Smokey X VVF's Lil Bit of Dazzle
This 32.25" chestnut mare, foaled on 4-30-92, like her half sister, Patches, had a stunning show career. Wishes won multiple reserve grand championships in halter and many mare, open, amateur, and ladies driving classes (including a big win over MMS Dream Come True in a large mares to drive class at the 1996 Julep Cup. What a class! What a day! To beat Dreamer under one judge and to stand right behind her under the other two!!)
Wishes retired from the showring to begin producing M&MS Farm's next generation, after her 1996 AMHA National Top Ten in Mares to Drive.
Her first son is a gorgeous, refined, black and white pinto colt with angel wings at his tailhead and a perfect heart on his left shoulder. Amateur Supreme Halter Horse and Futurity Champion 2 Year Old Stallion MMS Sovereign's Three Wishes joined Carolyn Pope and her son Christopher in New Castle, Indiana for his new show career as a gelding. Thanks, Carolyn, for selecting Wings!
Wishes' first daughter, MMS Whisper Blue Wishes is extraordinary! Gorgeous, refined, and well balanced with a perfect little head and blue eyes, Whisper joined our showstring in 2002 and 2003, garnering multiple reserves and AMHA Regional titles. Whisper is now most beloved by her new "mom", Agneta Bergwall of Simplicity Miniatures, after journeying all the way to Eskiltuna, Sweden.
Wishes' third foal, MMS As You Wish, is just as extraordinary, based on his 2003 showring performances and the foals he's siring: MMS Your Gallant Wish (now beloved by Beverly and Larry Peabody of Houghton Lake, Michigan), MMS Ayla Enchantress, MMS Shenanigans Assured, and MMS Alykazam.
Wishes "kid", As You Wish, and the "grandkids": Ayla, Sure Enough, and Kazam -- are available for purchase.
Wishes' 2004 foal, MMS Abracadabra, is awesome. He joined Ryka Miniatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan, after the Second Annual Valentines Day Sale. Thank you, Judy and Reuel Long, for selecting Abracadabra!
Wishes was bred to our newest AMHA National Top Ten Stallion Mischief Maker in the hopes of getting a real high stepping, sensible, and talented foal in 2005. The bay roan filly MMS Mischief's Fabled Wish exceeded even our expectations! Fable will stay with us at M&MS Farms.
Once Fable was weaned, Wishes showed no signs of heat. So... she took a well deserved year off, before she was bred to our incredibly handsome, high stepping Komotion for 2007.
We're pleased to report: MMS Como Va is all we hoped for (and more) -- a spirited, intelligent, handsome, high stepping, colorful, chestnut pinto. Como Va is available for purchase.
Wishes was rebred to Komotion for a May 2008 foal. That baby is the extraordinary chestnut pinto filly MMS Komotion's Wishful Thinking! Willow, too, is a spirited mover and is available for purchase.
Wishes is now in foal to the magnificent Rivers Edge Black Velvet's Snowfire. Thank you, Judy and Reuel Long of Ryka Miniatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for allowing us to use Snowfire. Our sure to be incredible foal is due in May 2009.

MMS Dream Come True Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image (by Little King's Bay Banner by Komokos Little King Supreme) X Feather Ridge's Patches (Feather Ridge's Smokey X Feather Ridge's Beauty)
Ever since she was born on 5-25-93, this 31.75" bay pinto mare has proven the self-fulfilling prophecy of her name. She truly is a Dream Come True! First, because it took so many covers, over two years, for Patches to stay in foal. Then because it was a difficult delivery.
But we were blessed, from her birth, with Dreamer's winning personality, great temperament, high intelligence and extraordinary athleticism. And she proved her talent repeatedly, earning championships and reserve grand championships in halter; and championships in futurity, mares, ladies, gentlemen, amateur, and 32" & under driving classes; including all of these AMHA titles:
1997 National Champion Single Pleasure Driving Mare
1997 National Top Ten Gentlemen's Single Pleasure Driving
1997 National Top Ten Ladies' Single Pleasure Driving
1997 National Top Ten Single Pleasure Driving 32" & Under
1997 Eastern Regional Grand Champion Single Pleasure Driving Horse
1997 Eastern Regional Reserve Champion Ladies' Single Pleasure Driving
1996 National Champion Single Pleasure Driving Mare
1996 National Champion Amateur Single Pleasure Driving (62 horses competing)
1996 National Top Ten Gentlemen's Single Pleasure Driving
1996 National Top Ten Single Pleasure Driving 32" & Under
1996 MidAmerica Miniature Horse Club Futurity Driving Champion
Dreamer's first foal, by Winners' Circle Adonis, is the extraordinary MMS Adonis Dream On. Thank you, Cindy Collins, of Showbiz Miniature Horses in Manton, California, for choosing our fabulous Dream On!
Dreamer also delivered two exceptionally high stepping sons by Lutes' Komo Dandy in 2001 and in 2002. The handsome and very athletic MMS Dream Komotion and the sure to be homozygous MMS In Komo's Wildest Dreams. Komotion is available by private treaty. Thanks, Christina Terpenning, for selecting Wild One. We're so proud of you and Wild One for all your accomplishments in the driving, halter, and liberty rings for you at Rain Dance Ranch in Ridgefield, Washington. And the foals he's siring for you are wonderful, too!
(Both Adonis and Komo are profiled under "Other Reference Sires".)
Dreamer's 2003 black bay pinto daughter by Blue Sovereign, MMS True Blue, also is available.
Thank you, Bill Winfield, of Blue Bird Farm in Weatherford, Texas, for selecting Dreamer's flashy 2005 Blue Sovereign son, MMS Sovereign's True Believer, as your first, very own, herd sire!
Dreamer chose our AMHA National Top Ten Mischief Maker as her 2005 mate and proved her wisdom once again, when she delivered MMS Dream Maker. He's Mischief's very first son, and he's an extraordinary blue roan and white pinto! We like Dream Maker so well, in fact, that we repeated the breeding for an April 2008 foal. That time we got the dainty black filly MMS Day Dream Mischief. What a gift!
Dreamer is now in foal to the incredible Rivers Edge Black Velvet's Snowfire. That foal is due in May 2009 and is sure to be fabulous! Thank you Judy and Reuel Long of Ryka Miniatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan for allowing Dreamer to "visit" Snowfire.

Fallen Ash Farm's Scout's Debut L&D Scout (by Orion Light Vant Huttenest) X Flying W Farm's Blue Capri (by FWF's Little Boy Blue)
This exceptionally well-bred 30" dapple brown mare with flaxen mane and tail, was foaled on 4-27-94. Debut had a brief but memorable show career, garnering halter futurities and grand championships along the way.
Although she's been plagued by difficulties settling, and a beautiful little filly that died at birth in 2000, Debut delivered a wonderful daughter in 2001, weanling champion MMS Debut's Bold Quest. (And Quest is a most welcome addition to our broodmare band.)
Debut was bred back to Bold Image for May 2004, but went into labor too early and delivered a stillborn colt. So... we tried again. And in May 2005, we were truly blessed with the easy, uneventful delivery of a stunning black bay colt. His name is MMS Debut's Shiloh Image. ("Shiloh", of course, means "God's gift".) Shiloh is now in St. Clair, Michigan where he's absolutely doted on. Thank you, Michelle Measel-Morris, for allowing our Shiloh to select you!
When Shiloh was weaned, Debut opted to take some much deserved time off from motherhood.

MMS Dazzle's Reigning Miracle Fallen Ash Farm's Blue Sovereign (by FWF's Blue Dynasty by FWF's Little Blue Boy) X VVF's Li'l Bit of Dazzle (VVF LoBoy's Short Zipper X Lil Bit)
This chestnut roan, 32.25" multiple halter grand champion senior mare was foaled, despite a severe dystocia, on 4-21-96. All the specialists marveled that the little filly survived, proclaiming that fact a "miracle". So... Miracle she is!
We retired her from the showring in 1999, with multiple AMHA Senior Mare Grand Championships. And to date, Miracle has presented us with five fillies in a row and one colt!
Her first foal, AMHA multi champion 28"-30" Yearling Mare and Junior Amateur Mare MMS Miracle's Enchantress, successfully began her broodmare career when she delivered an Ultra daughter in May 2004, MMS Keeper Of The Starz. Enchantress is available for purchase, as is Miracle's 2003 daughter, MMS Miracle's Image In The Moonlight. We are also offering either Miracle or her dam, Dazzle.
Miracle's other foals found themselves fabulous new homes. MMS Mirror Image and MMS Pocketful Of Miracles are both with Rich Nykamp and his family in Holland, Michigan. MMS Ultimately Moriah is with Norma Feutz in Fife Lake, Michigan. And Keeper is part of Ryka Miniatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thank you, Judy and Reuel Long!
Miracle delivered an exquisite blue roan colt by our AMHA National Top Ten 29" & Under Junior Stallion Mischief Maker on 5-17-07. MMS Mischief's Milagro is his name, and he's available for purchase.
Miracle is in foal to Mischief once again. The baby is due in May 2009.

Feather Ridge Dream Catcher By Davy Merry-Go-Round's Davy Crockett (Parr's Dandy Duke X KK Peppermint Stick) X Feather Ridge's Essense (Feather Ridge's Smokey X Feather Ridge's Beauty)
We acquired Feather as a weanling, because we liked what we saw in such a little horse: in her trot, in her temperament, and in her conformation.
Her sire is the black and white pinto AMHA National Top Ten 28" & Under Senior Stallion Merry-Go-Round's Davy Crockett (now deceased), and her dam is Patches' only full sister, Essense, another red and white pinto. Thank you, Wendy O'Brien of Trout Walk Farm in Wassaic, New York, for selecting Essense!
Feather's heritage sure showed through during her show career as an open, amateur and youth mare. She earned multiple reserve grand championships in halter and was trained exclusively by her youth handler for the fun youth halter obstacle classes.
Retired from the showring after taking her 1999 AMHA Eastern Regional Top Tens, this spunky 29.25" mare, born on 6-3-96, easily delivered her very first foal, MMS First Kiss, by Ultra, in 2000. Thank you, Dr. Bonnie Searles, for adoring our little Kiss!
Feather absorbed in 2001 and miscarried in 2002. In 2003, after worrying us and her therio specialist, some 34 days past her due date, Feather presented us with what we thought was a Bold Image daughter. But when the DNA Parentage Qualified tests were run, they proved Feather had actually delivered an Enchantor daughter. What gymnasts they had to have been to "do it" through the woven wire fence! That filly, MMS Shenanigans For Sure, successfully began her broodmare career in 2007 when she delivered the wondorous, blue eyed, dark grey pinto son of As You Wish: MMS Shenanigans Assured. Sure Enough is available for purchase, as is his dam, Shayna.
Feather delivered a premature Blue Sovereign son in May 2004. Despite an underdeveloped nervous system and front legs that needed to be splinted for support, MMS Cloud Dancer is doing fine now. Thank you, Debbie Wiggins, for selecting Cloud! Thank you, too, Cookie McKee, for convincing Debbie to permit your adoption of the little man to go through.
Feather was bred to AMHA National Top Ten 29" & Under Junior Stallion Mischief Maker for 2005. And on Mothers' Day, her phenomenal gift to me was a stunning filly: MMS Sonserra Mischief. Sonserra is a keeper! She will remain at M&MS Farms.
Feather was bred back to Mischief Maker but experienced two consecutive early term miscarriages before successfully foaling the fabulous black and white pinto filly MMS Mischief's Fortune Teller in April of 2008. Fortune is most definitely a little girl worth waiting for!
Feather is now bred to our phenomenal Komotion. The foal is due in June 2009.

|
Merry-Go-Rounds' Geisha Girl Feather Ridge's Lord Trevor (Feather Ridge's Smokey X Feather Ridge's Maggie) X Boone's Little Golden Girl (by Gold Melody Boy)
A 2002 addition to our broodmare band, Geisha measures 30" and was foaled on 6-2-96. Her Gold Melody Boy heritage, her striking dark brown coat set off by her flaxen mane and tail, her lovely head, her gorgeous eyes, and her first four foals for us, earn her a central role in our continuing breeding program.
Geisha's 2003 solid black filly by Enchantor, MMS Enchantor's Galaxy Girl, is lovely. Thank you, Christina Terpenning, of Rain Dance Ranch in Ridgefield, Washington, for choosing Galaxy and for allowing us to breed her to Blue Sovereign!
Geisha's 2004 grey and white pinto colt by Blue Sovereign, MMS Once In A Blue Moon, is handsome and loving. He's available for purchase. And her 2005 chromed colt by Enchantor, MMS Charmed and Enchanted is just knock dead gorgeous. Thank you again, Christina Terpenning, for selecting Charming as your first show colt and future herd sire! And thank you, too, Laura Yeo, for adopting Charming.
Geisha's 2006 reverse buckskin pinto colt by As You Wish is extraordinary. MMS Your Gallant Wish is now living in Houghton Lake, Michigan, where he's doted on by Beverly and Larry Peabody, their children and their grandchildren.
Geisha is in foal now to As You Wish. The baby is expected in June 2009.

KK Peppermint Stick Johnston's Gold Nugget (Gold Melody Boy X Starlight III) X PB's Little Misty
This double bred Gold Melody Boy granddaughter is the dam of AMHA National Top Ten 28" and Under Senior Stallion Merry-Go-Round's Davy Crockett (now deceased) and the granddam of our little multiple Reserve Grand Champion Senior Mare Feather.
Patty joined our broodmare band in 2002. She is 30.25" and was foaled on 9-5-85.
Patty's broodmare days may be over, but Patty's "job" is "Boss Mare" in the broodmare band, with all the attendant responsibilities.

|
MMS Starlight Starbright Johnston's Starlight Ranger (by Roan Ranger) X Serena
This 33.5" Roan Ranger grandaughter was foaled on 4-1-96. Starlight had a credible show career. She garnered multiple championships and grand and reserve grand championships, both with her trainers and with her amateur owner/trainer, in her halter and pleasure driving classes before joining M&MS Farms' broodmares. Thank you, Bob Parton and Laura Tennill, for your help in preparing Starlight for the showring.
Starlight is the only daughter our very first broodmare, Serena, ever produced for us over the years. So there's no doubt at all that Starlight is meant to stay here on the farm.
Unfortunately, Starlight's success as a broodmare won't ever rival her success in the showring. She's been plagued, over the years, by absorptions, two severe dystocias, and miscarriages. So... Starlight has been retrained to drive, with the help of Camille Reed of Irving, Texas and Lisa Barnes of Bar NS Ranch. She's coming home and will be one of M&MS Farms' permanent pleasure and lesson horses.

MMS Bold Escapade Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image (by Little King's Bay Banner by Komoko's Little King Supreme) X Feather Ridge's Essense (Feather Ridge's Smokey X Feather Ridge's Beauty)
Escapade retired from the showring with all her yearling blue ribbons to begin her new career as a broodmare. And if her very first daughter and her very first son are the indications we believe they are, Escapade is a producer of magnificent foals.
This 32.5" bay mare with lots of black overlay, a faint star, big expressive eyes, great conformation, and a wonderfully willing attitude is another daughter of our beloved senior stallion Bold Image and our incredible Patches' only full sister, Essense.
Foaled on 4-9-00, Escapade delivered her very first foal -- a tiny little blue eyed, mostly white, bay pinto filly - some 5 weeks early in April of 2004. We had exceptionally high hopes for what this King Supreme/Blue Boy cross would produce. And even so, MMS Essence Reigns On wowed us. Reign is fabulous! Thank you, Marilyn Erb of Fun In The Sun Miniatures in Lakeside, California, for selecting our little "Munchkin"! So glad our First Annual Valentines' Day Sale brought us together!
Escapade was bred back to Blue Sovereign for 2005. She delivered very early, once again. This foal is a stunning blue eyed colt named MMS Fire And Ice. Fire is available for purchase and would make an awesome show colt/gelding!
Escapade opted to take a year off when she showed no heat cycle after Fire's birth. She was rebred in 2006 but suffered a severe dystocia in March 2007. The foal was stillborn. Weeks of treatment under the tutelage of Dr. Carla Carleton may enable Escapade to be rebred in the future.

MMS Miracle's Enchantress MMS Patches' Bold Enchantor (Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image X Feather Ridge's Patches) X MMS Dazzle's Reigning Mircle (Fallen Ash Farm's Blue Sovereign X VVF's L'il Bit of Dazzle)
This 30.5" solid, true black mare is one of our third generation of fabulous former show fillies now in the midst of their broodmare careers at M&MS Farms. And what a new career debut Enchantress made when she delivered our very first, full fourth generation filly in 2004: MMS Keeper Of The Starz. Thank you, Judy and Reuel Long, of Ryka Miniatures in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for choosing Keeper during our Second Annual Valentines Day Sale!
Foaled on 5-21-00, Enchantress is Miracle's very first foal and Enchantor's very first daughter. She's something very special! But then she has to be to honor her multiple grand champion and AMHA Eastern Regional Top Ten sire and her multiple grand champion dam, in addition to carrying on the traditions of her grandparents: Bold Image, Patches, Blue Sovereign, and Dazzle.
She was bred to two time AMHA National Champion Vermilyea Farm's Portrait of Blue for 2005, but absorbed. Making amends, Enchantress delivered an As You Wish daughter in June of 2006. MMS Ayla Enchantress is pert and petite... a silver dapple and white pinto filly with a baby doll head. What a fabulous filly Ayla is!
Enchantress miscarried in 2006 and again in 2008.
Enchantress and her daughter Ayla are available for purchase.

MMS Almost An Angel Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image (by Little King's Bay Banner by Komoko's Little King Supreme) X Feather Ridge's Patches (Feather Ridge's Smokey X Feather Ridge's Beauty)
This exquisite 30.5", DNA Parentage Qualified, bay mare with huge expressive eyes, a cocky trot and black overlay retired from the showring in 2002 and delivered her very first foal, effortlessly, in 2003.
Allie is a wonderful mother and seems to truly enjoy her new career -- producing the next generation of potential champions. We're hopeful they'll all have the conformation, beauty, self-confidence and even disposition of her first: National Futurity Nominated MMS Echo's Spirit Alibi, a Buck Echo daughter. Thank you, Christina Terpenning of RainDance Ranch in Ridgefield, Washington, for selecting Alibi and for allowing us to breed her to Komotion! Thank you, too, Vicky and Heather Redmond of Blue Star Miniatures in Estacada, Oregon, for adopting our Alibi for your own breeding program.
Allie's sire, Bold Image, is our most beloved senior stallion; and her fantastic dam, Patches, was our very first miniature mare and our very first nationally titled horse. Allie is a full sister to our eight time AMHA nationally titled Dream Come True. She's a full sister to our multiple grand champion and Regional Top Ten halter and driving stallion Enchantor, who is an integral part of M&MS Farm's breeding program. And she's also a full sister to Cindy Ramsey's gelding, MMS Patches' Image Pizzazz. Thanks, Cindy, for loving Pizzazz and allowing me to help you teach him to drive!
Allie opted not to come back into heat after her 2005 son, MMS Almost Ultra Magic was born. Thank you, Dr. Bonnie Searles, for selecting our Magic man and allowing him to join your loving family in Sheridan, Michigan!
So... Allie took some much deserved time off. She was bred to MMS As You Wish for an April 2008 foal and delivered the incomparable MMS Alykazam, a silver dapple bay with a small star. Kazam is exceptionally well put together and loves people. He certainly was worth waiting for!

Winners' Circle Prima Donna Winners' Circle Adonis X Boone's Little Star Light
This 32.5" colorful lady joined our broodmare band in November of 2003, and we were fortunate to get her -- another daughter of the illustrous, world famous, Adonis (by Martin's Dealer's Choice X Spice Of Life Saffron), in foal to Winners' Circle BZ Bellagio (by Boone's Little Buckaroo 2nd X Spice of Life Saffron).
Prima has all the attitude, beauty and conformation one would expect from Adonis. And she's an awesome mother, too!
Her 2004 foal is MMS Prima BZ Deal Me In, a fabulous grulla line back dun. Dealer is a stunning colt. And he earned his dam a premier position in M&MS Farms' broodmare band. Dealer is available to the right home.
Prima is bred to our beloved Enchantor for a May 2009 foal.

MMS Whisper Blue Wishes FAF's Blue Sovereign (by FWF's Blue Dynasty by FWF's Little Blue Boy) X MMS Wish Upon A Dazzlin Star (Feather Ridge's Smokey X VVFs L'il Bit of Dazzle)
Whisper joined M&MS Farms' broodmare band in 2005, after a successful show career. In 2002, she repeatedly stood second in her classes and her Futurity. In 2003, she decided showing was great fun, placed well at the highly competitive Julep Cup, took an AMHA Eastern Regional Top Ten, and showed her heart out in AOTE mares at the AMHA National Show.
Whisper's sire is our multiple grand champion junior and senior stallion, Blue Sovereign. And her dam is our multireserve grand champion junior and senior halter and AMHA National Top Ten driving mare, Wishes.
Whisper was born on 7-21-01. She's DNA Parentage Qualified and measures 31.5".
Whisper is now a Swedish "citizen". She got lucky when Agneta Bergwall of Simplicity Miniatures in Eskilstuna fell in love with her via the internet and decided to make her her very own. Whisper will be returning to the showring, this time in Europe, in 2009. How very awesome!

MMS Debut's Bold Quest Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image (by Little King's Bay Banner by Komoko's Little King Supreme) X FAF's Scout's Debut (L&D Scout by Orion Light Vant Huttenest) X Flying W Farm's Blue Capri (by FWF's Little Boy Blue)
Quest showed as a weanling, earning numerous championships and a junior mare grand championship. She joined M&MS Farms' broodmare band in 2004, settled on her first heat cycle, handled her pregnancy well, easily delivered her very first foal in April of 2005, bred back the following month, and took loving care of MMS Quest's Enchanted Surprise until weaning time. What a fantastic beginning Quest had to her new "career" as a broodmare! This little lady does it all so well!
Quest was foaled on 3-4-01, four years after we began breeding her dam Debut. She combines the very best of her lovely dam, her handsome sire Bold Image and her grandparents: Little King's Bay Banner (now deceased), BJ's Jaxson Mash, L&D Scout (now deceased), and FWF's Blue Capri. She's a tribute to all of them!
Quest always does her very best to excel in everything we ask of her. She's a young mare with great promise. She's DNA Parentage Qualified and measures 30".
Quest was bred to Komotion for 2007 but miscarried in October. She's now bred to Enchantor for an April 2008 foal.

Winner's Circle Snowflake Winner's Circle Adonis (Martin's Dealer's Choice X Spice Of Life Saffron) X Spice Of Life Sassafrass (Boone's Little Buckeroo X Boone's Little Cinder)
This magnificent mare joined us as a yearling in 2003. We coveted her, because she's a rare find: another lovely Adonis daughter. Thank you, Barbara Norman, for making it possible for Snowflake to join us here at M&MS Farms! And when she arrived, Snowflake was even more gorgeous than we'd expected from all the pictures and the video Barb had sent us.
Snowflake was born snow white on 3-31-02. When we clipped her out that first spring, however, we found she'd become a light palomino. What a very pleasant surprise!
Snowflake has a gorgeous head, huge eyes, great conformation, and a spirited trot. In fact, as she moves out, she flags her tail -- very much an Arabian in miniature. And she has the sweetest disposition -- a testimony, they tell me, to her dam, "Sassy", one of Barb's two most favorite mares.
Snowflake is DNA tested and AMHA Futurity Nominated. She was bred to Blue Sovereign for an August 2008 foal, but miscarried. She's now in foal to Bold Image. That baby is expected in May 2009 and will be Snowflake's very first.

MMS Shenanigans For Sure MMS Patches' Bold Enchantor (by Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image by Little King's Bay Banner by Komoko's Little King Supreme) X Feather Ridge's Dream Catcher by Davy (Merry-Go-Round's Davy Crockett X Feather Ridge's Essense)
Shayna is a young, proven mare, just beginning her broodmare career. She was bred to As You Wish for her very first foal. That baby is MMS Shenanigans Assured. He arrived on 5-29-07, four days before his due date. We call him Sure Enough. And he's very special -- a blue eyed, dark grey and white pinto with a loving disposition. (We were right when we figured there was a pinto coming!)
Some 34 days past her due date and only a couple of days before we planned to induce the foaling, Shayna was born, on 5-18-03.
She's a chestnut with a crescent moon at the top of her blaze. She's refined and correct... a testament to her parents, Enchantor and Feather, and to her grandparents, AMHA National Top Ten 28" & Under Stallion Davy Crockett (now deceased), ÅMHA National Top Ten Patches, and AMHA National Top 16 Bold Image.
Shayna is Feather's first daughter. She measures 32.5". And she's DNA Parentage Qualified.
Shayna showed no signs of heat after Sure Enough's birth. So we had to wait to rebreed her. She's now in foal to Blue Sovereign again and is due in June 2009.

Foaled on 4-2-03, some 10 days past her due date, Destiny is an elegant chestnut pinto with that special attitude we've come to expect from all of our beloved Patches' grandchildren.
Destiny is Ultra's first daughter and another grandaughter of the AMHA National Top Ten Stallion Cricket's Image, who's now living in Australia. Her dam, our retired show mare Dazzle, always produces high quality foals.
Destiny measures 32.5". She's DNA Parentage Qualified.

MMS True Blue Fallen Ash Farm's Blue Sovereign (by Flying W Farm's Blue Dynasty by Flying W Farm's Little Blue Boy) X MMS Dream Come True (Westwind's In Banner's Bold Image X Feather Ridge's Patches)
True Blue is a young maiden mare, looking forward to beginning her broodmare career.
True Blue was born on 5-31-03, six days past her due date. Our long anticipated King Supreme/Blue Boy cross is phenomenal.
True Blue is an elegant and refined 34" mare. And of course, she's DNA Parentage Qualified.
She's a very dark, black bay pinto with lots of attitude and lots of promise. We're looking forward to the foals she'll produce over the years, knowing her foundation with our incredible Dreamer and Blue Sovereign as her parents.
