History

M&MS Farms was established in 1987, when we bought our first horse a home. It's the residence of an elite collection of miniature horses, miniature donkeys, Morgan horses and Australian Shepherds. Named after Me & My Shadow, a Morgan-Arab gelding and Sue's very first horse (a childhood dream come true), the farm is located in Williamston, Michigan, 2 miles off Interstate 96's Exit 117, 18 miles from Lansing, the State Capitol; about an hour from Detroit and about 3 1/2 hours from Chicago.

We're a small farm, by design. Over the years, we've hand picked a few outstanding individuals for our breeding program and raise each and every one with lots of hands-on, personalized care and attention, so all are best prepared to excel in exactly what they're best suited for. Good health, temperament, disposition, conformation, beauty, balance and talent are the foundations.

And we've been exceptionally fortunate. Some of our best foals and pups of the past few years have found fine new homes from throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio; to Utah, Texas, Louisiana, Idaho, New York, California, Oregon, and Washington; and to Sweden. Those on our showstring have honored their legacies, while they've created even greater inheritances for the future.

The horses of M&MS Farms excel in the showring. Nearly all are champions - some hold national titles. The donkeys are great guard animals and companions. The dogs are working stock - aiding the wheelchair bound, helping on the farm, and making great family pets. Some of the horses, donkeys, and dogs provide community service through day care centers, schools, art classes, and long term care facilities.

We're proud of our accomplishments, and we're humbled daily by the compassion and intelligence exhibited by the creatures with whom we're blessed to share our life.
